The Furrow of the Old Ploughs
Places
Carhaix-Plouguer 2013

“Les Vieilles Charrues” music festival is the most important musical event in France, and the second largest attendance among the European festivals. 270 000 people gather during 4 days in  the small town of Carhaix, 8 000 inhabitants.

How to recreate a festival atmosphere

A museum project is planned to share this beautiful atmosphere throughout the year, and tell the local story of what has become a national success.

We envision an interactive exhibition that would bring to life the adventures of festival-goers and volunteers, the performances of rock stars, and the expertise of stage technicians. Various devices allow visitors to experience the conditions of a real show.

Some examples:

Ignite the Crowd: In a joyful crowd simulator, you move 55,000 people who mimic your gestures out of sight (motion capture). Slam Machine offers an intense surfing experience by throwing yourself onto hundreds of articulated hands. Augmented Karaoke: Record a video singing a hit with the singer's gaze glued to your face, using augmented reality.

Many other educational devices talk about the physics of sound, make you aware of the enormous constraints and sound techniques of concerts or allow you to play with music and instruments
