Project to install 2500 windmills on the façade of the Palais de Chaillot. It overlooks the Trocadéro esplanade, for the inauguration of the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine, designed with the architectural collective Encore Heureux.

 

A wave of windmills

 

Our intervention consisted of designing and testing windmills made of folded polypropylene, fixed to a net stretched against the facade. The challenges: lightness, robustness and ease of assembly.

 

After several phases of testing, the device withstood gusts of 110 km/h. The windmills come to life in rhythm with the wind, creating a vibrant wheat field and shaping the air currents.
