Living in the Palace
Living in the Louvre means being able to feel a little more at home, to be active, alone or with others, to meet up, to reconnect. The Table is the vector that unites the temporary inhabitants of the place and organizes the space. Gathering around a table within the exhibition spaces is the opportunity that the Louvre was still missing, a posture to experience the palace for a brief moment.
It's a basic table that can be approached from all sides. Its screens are distributed according to the locations and their constraints, its benches are distributed around the perimeter to accommodate group and individual use, whether seated, standing, or for people with reduced mobility.
The issue of the status of computer screens within such a historically significant site is not to be taken lightly. Technology must accompany the visitor experience; it must be considered as a tool, not as a presence to be endured. We sought to integrate the screens as naturally as possible into the landscape of the rooms, placing them horizontally so as not to interfere with the appreciation of the works.
